Beyond the primary viewing areas, the coastal paths lead to significant historical sites built right onto the cliffs. The two-mile route from the visitor centre takes you past early warning acoustic mirrors and down into secret military tunnels.

At the end of the trail stands a Victorian lighthouse famous for pioneering electric light. Expect to spend at least half a day if you plan to visit both the tunnels and the lighthouse tearoom.
